Marie-Andrée Ouret (1970 – Suhescun, Lower Navarre) is first and foremost known as a staunch defender of the Basque language. Chairperson of the Biga Bai association, she endeavours to improve the presence of the Basque language in state schools. She also works at Bayonne’s media library and is in charge of the Bilketa project, recently revealed to the public and whose main aim is to provide greater access to Basque heritage in libraries, by linking thousands of documents via a virtual portal website.
