Josette Dacosta (1944 – Bordeaux) is an artist and painter. Although she is solitary, she does not forget the sometimes subliminal, sometimes active link which connects her to the surrounding environment. She is usually reserved, but has opened the doors of the Itzal Aktiboa association, located in St Jean Pied de Port since 2004, which is for the third time organising an eponymous prize aimed at promoting young contemporary artists from the Basque Country.
