Joseph Maris Collection of Basque Musical Scores
The composer and musician Jo Maris has given us a priceless gift by making available on the web a wide variety of songs which can be consulted and used. These songs for 2, 3 or 4 voices are often accompanied by a base with guitar and other instruments.
Serving Basque polyphonic song: Joseph Maris
Born in Ribousse (Aude) on 21 July 1934. Since he settled in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in 1963 he has constantly made his knowledge and services available to his adoptive town and country which he loves so much.
Jo Maris is above all an architect of polyphonic song. He has worked with many singers, both young and old alike, to whom he has taught the basics of singing and with performances at numerous concerts.
