The exhibition Batekmila - Basque Worlds is looking for new exhibition locations
After its success in Bayonne, San Sebastian and Bilbao, Batekmila - Basque Worlds, the Basque Cultural Institute's multimedia exhibition is looking for new locations to exhibit.
What does it mean to be Basque today?
This is the question raised by this exhibition which invites visitors to discover and explore the lives and experiences of Basques. A sensory journey into the heart of a sound and visual universe, a kaleidoscope of accounts by contemporary artists, photographers, writers, musicians, directors, etc.
The exhibition's first presentation in Bayonne was a reel success. In San Sebastian and in Bilbao it was visited by a large number of school groups.
A universal theme
The Basque Cultural Institute hopes to be able to continue presenting this exhibition, especially outside the Basque Country, with the aim of developing this often little known culture.
The exhibition is both specific, because it provides an insight into what it means to be Basque today through language and culture, and universal because it highlights the common issues facing so-called "minority" cultures and local identities in a modern and globalised world.
If you are interested in hosting the exhibition please contact the Basque Cultural Institute in order to request an application form which includes a copy of the financial and technical terms.
