"The Argentina of the Basques" exhibition on the Internet
"The Argentina of the Basques" exhibition, inaugurated in January 2004, endeavours to shed light on the emigration of the Basques to Argentina in the 19th and 20th centuries, especially from the Northern Basque Country.
It is the fruit of collaboration between Ospitalea, the Atlantic Pyrenees' General Council's Heritage Education Centre in Irissarry, the Basque Cultural Institute, the Euskal Argentina association, Friends of the Museum of Lower Navarre in Saint-Palais and the photographer Kepa Etchandy.
The online exhibition organised by the Basque Cultural Institute contains all the textual and photographic as well as video content. This digital version has the advantage of being fully translated into Spanish and is therefore available for consultation by the diaspora in Argentina.
A unique occasion to consult online a wide variety of historic documents and also more recent video accounts of emigrants and their descendents.
