Denis Laborde (1959 – Bayonne, Labourd) is an ethnologist and director of research at the CNRS (French National Institute of Scientific Research), director of studies at the EHESS and member of the cultural commission at the Fondation de France. He has been working with the Basque Cultural Institute for many years and his current project involves a world music research centre in Bayonne. Here he talks about his life, both rich and chaotic, with a touch of irony.
