Beñat Achiary (1947 – St Palais, Lower Navarre) is a singer, musician, improviser, well-known both inside and outside the Basque Country. Recently retired from Bayonne’s Conservatoire Maurice Ravel, he is currently preparing the Errobi Festival (18 – 21 July in Itxassou), but stopped to talk to us about cherries and silence in a noisy bar.
