Jorge Oteiza is still considered a key figure in Basque culture, one of the most outstanding of the 20th century.
Justifiably known by his peers as a cultural agitator, he nevertheless made the unthinkable possible by liberating contemporary Basque art.
His very strong personality and his taste for confrontation made him a legend.
He was both flattered and hated by art critics and historians who nevertheless all agree that there was a before and after Oteiza.
