Josune Bereziartu (I)
"My name’s Josune Bereziartu. I’m just an ordinary person, like everyone else. That’s how I like to introduce myself.
At the moment I go climbing every day. We’re used to walking upright on two feet and keeping balance, but when you climb, the first sensation is that your legs are no longer of any use at all, your strength comes from your hands and you can’t find your balance. You feel like you’ve no longer got control over your body.
This feeling of dominating the body has really won me over. I’m convinced that all mountains are different, but there is a common denominator to them all.
In the mountains you feel free, whether here, in Japan, the USA or Switzerland. People who like me have climbed to the top have also discovered the meaning of life".
