To develop a digital strategy

Since the beginning of the 2000s, the Basque cultural institute has been working on digital mediation. It has developed technical tools (website, newsletter, social networks, multimedia presentations...) which can be supplemented (guided tours exhibitions, consultation of documents at the headquarters of the Basque cultural institute) and that facilitate access to information and digital resources. At the same time, it furthers/fosters the exchanges between cultural actors and the public.

The digital strategy defines the framework for the implementation, evaluation and enhancement of the Basque cultural institute’s digital mediation devices.

In 2017, the professional team drafted a work plan that compiles the main aspects of the digital strategy for the 2018-2020 period.

For a period of four years, the Basque cultural institute’s digital strategy is structured according to five fundamental lines:

  • the diffusion of research and reflections related to Basque culture;
  • the facilitation of access to heritage databases;
  • the production and sharing of editorialized digital content;
  • the compilation and value enhancement of recent cultural and artistic developments;
  • the communication on the Basque cultural institute’s digital offer.
