The term "Hogei'ta"
Hogeita firstly refers to the figure 20 (Hogei in Basque), a symbolic figure for young people.
Furthermore, the suffix "Ta" in Basque is a semantic element which is sometimes associated with the imaginary. It implies the idea of dreams, creativity and whatever is possible.
In other words, by choosing the term Hogeita as a title, the BCI is giving the younger generations a central role in this programme and encouraging the expression of Basque culture in all its different forms.
The Basque Cultural Institute is open to the public from Monday to Friday from 9am to 12:30pm and from 1:30 to 6pm (except Fridays, closure at 5pm, and wednesday, closure at 1pm).
